Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

Did another workout with my sister today. We stretched and did Power 90 Sculpt 1-2. This video is a little shorter (I think 38-40 minutes) but packed with lunges, squats, weight-lifting, and push-ups. It was a really good workout and incorporated a number of different free-weight exercises I don't typically do. After that, my sister left but I ran on the treadmill for 2 miles at 6.2mph. I got good n' sweaty and decided to call it quits after 'House' was over. (There is a Sunday 'House' marathon on today!). Unfortunately, it has been a very busy week with a lot more work to do. Maybe I will put it on in the background, though. ;)

I guess this week was travel week for my family, so i was left home alone for a few days. I don't like not having a workout date for Power 90, so I just stretched and ran on the treadmill. I did 3.5 miles at 6.0-6.2mph with incline at 2%. Then I did a 0.5 or so mile cool-down at 5.0-4.6mph. Finished up by stretching and doing a bunch of leg lifts.

My sister cam back from her travels last night, so I planned a workout date with her for today. It was a Power 90 Cardio day. Stretched before and after and did about 167 or so crunches. I felt the burn today, because I skipped 2 days while my sister was away. Unfortunately I have a lot to do today, so I didn't get time to jump on the treadmill afterward. I hope to make up for this loss in miles sometime later this week and weekend.

Did a run before work today. Stretched and jumped on the treadmill at 2% incline for 3.2 miles at 6.0-6.2mph.  Then slowed to 4.2-4.0mph for a 0.2 mile cool down. Stretched and made a cup of tea and some breakfast. I will be doing some tap dancing instruction at work today, so i might burn a couple calories that way. If I'm not too tired when I get home from work tonight, I might lift free weights or do Power 90 Sculpt.

Stretched and did Power90 Sculpt with my sister, Liana. It is tons of weight lifting, squats, dips, and the dreaded push-ups.Then stretched and "ellipticized" for 3 miles at 5.0 and 6.0 resistances. Liana ran on the treadmill. About a bucket of sweat later, we did some good stretching and called it a day!
