Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

Woke up and went out in the breezy cold for another 30-40 minute walk with the dog. We passed a farm with sheep and found a cool old stone bridge and a hiking trail. I would like to go back and explore that when the weather gets nicer!!

Woke up and was chilly! Stretched and ran for 3.3 miles at 6.3-6.6mph and 2% incline. Then did a 0.8 mile cool down at 4.1-5.0mph and 2.5% incline. Then stretched and lifted free weights. I cut it short today because I really wanted to call and talk to Benn about his morning!

Drove to work and got to do a 10 minute walk in Lee before my first meeting. I dunno how far it was but I found an uncratched Bingo-style scatch ticket on my journey!! I put it in my car for later tonight. I'll let you know if I win anything!!! :D hehe

This afternoon, I stretched and ran 5.5 miles at 5.8-6.1mph and 2% incline. Then, did a 1.5 mile cool down at 4.1 mph and talked to Benn on the phone. Finished and stretched again. Next, I did lunges, 3 different sets of squats, and leg lifts. Ended with weight lifting and stretching again.

After I work on some stuff for work, I would like to do crunches tonight before bed, too!

Woke up, stretched, and ran on the treadmill for 3.2 miles at 6.0-6.2mph and 2% incline. Then I did a cool down of 0.9 miles at 4.0-4.1mph. After, I stretched and did lunges and 3 different types of squats. When I was finishing up leg lifts, I could start to feel it burning in the side of my butt!! haha yAoW! Then I did free weight lifting and about 191 or so crunches (10 different types). I try to keep count but sometimes I alternate between 15 to 25 each, so it is hard to tell.

Stretched then ran upstairs to play with my 1-yr-old neice, Jane!!
