Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

Stretched and jumped on Benn's treadmill while he braved the outdoors. Ran a gradual 6.0 - 6.4 mph for 4 miles. I tried to put the treadmill on an incline, but when I tried it started making a funky noise... so I put it back down to 0%. Did a cooldown walk and gradually decreased speed from 4.0 - 3.8mph. Did good stretching afterward.

I just noticed on your profile that you work with people with Asberger's. I worked with some kids with it for a couple of years in high school and found it to be one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences of my life. Working with them full time must be a great job!

Well, funky treadmill or zero degrees outside? Any run is a great run, stretching the great.
