Recover From Injury

Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

 To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

Ran 3 miles with Benn this morning and then did yard work and mowed the lawn which worked up a sweat. Wish I had more time!!

Did Power90 Cardio Sweat 3-4 for 40 minutes before work this morning.

Ran 3 miles of roads & hills with Benn in the early evening. We are going to try to do a run or exercise together no matter what we have going on each day. I hope our plans work well!!!! I've been dying to get more activity in, but it's extremely tough working 45 hour weeks. Ugck.

Hiked Monument Mountain with Benn yesterday. Jogged during little intervals but pine needles make the rocks and ground slippery. Fell on my hands a little at the top and rolled my ankle twice. It is schey/sore and a tad swolen.
