Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

OLE BAJEESH! Just finished an extreme 48 minute cardio workout. I think my quads exploded. My sister and I tried to mix it up by finding a workout on Exercise TV on Demand (free on the television menu). We did an 8 minute booty workout (I forget the name, but I am sure I laughed at it) and another 8 minute core exercise workout. Both SUCKED for my legs, on top of them already being a bit fatigued from Power Yoga yesterday (even though I didn't run/ellipticise afterward like I typically do). Finally, we went to the "New Year, New You" menu and chose Cindy Whitmarsh's "Less is More Calorie-Burning Cardio." I have no idea why they stuck 'less' in the title, because it was all 'more, More, MORE.' I think with the combined routines from the 3 videos, we worked EVERY MUSCLE in our bodies. We were yelling at the tv when we could catch a few breaths and calling the woman obscene names.

It was a good bonding experience and a KILLER workout. I'm glad I kept pushing myself toward the end because I love that little feeling of accomplishment. Plus I needed to work off the extra calories from the weekend with Benn. I always eat more when he comes here because my Italian genes kick in and have to almost constantly offer food to any visitor.

 :)

Man yah! And I was still in the "Indian spirit" this week when I made that phenominnnaaaalll chana masala. I can't wait to have you try it. I browsed through that Amazing Indian Cookbook you got me. I love it so much- and not just for the recipes- I love the pictures, too.

I can't wait for warm weather so we can cook and have a picnic out on the deck :)
