Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

Asked my sister to be my workout buddy today. She agreed and we did a good mega workout! We did Power 90 (Cardio 1-2) which is an instructional exercise video that brings you through segments of lots of stretching, power yoga (Oye!), and bunch of cardio stuff like kickboxing, etc. We did 10 different-positioned crunches for a total of 140 or so. The video runs for 45 minutes and then we jumped on the exercis equiptment. My sister ran on the treadmill and I did the eliptical at level 5 resistance for 3.4 miles. At the end we were sweating bullets! We stretched again, got cleaned off, and I made smoothies. MMMMMmmmmmmm!

Thanks for the websites lil' one! I found one of my own. Actually Tara Grasso suggested it. This was the place I emailed and was telling you about on the phone. I found their website.

That place is gorgeous!! It is like 4.5 hours from home but hey! If we are to choose that one we can just find a place to stay up there!

Yeah! I read Margaret's story... It was REALLY good! I like her style. Just like you described it.

You said you already contacted Dreaming Mountain, right? If not I can do it.

You are right. It reminds me of Kripalu in that it is "hippyish" and peaceful. I liked the little picture of the prayer flags I saw on the site. Very cool.
